Terms of Service

By accessing or using realEngine (the “Service”), a brand operated by Fettler Ltd., you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

realEngine is an AI-powered media analysis platform that provides probabilistic assessments of whether images, videos, and audio files may be AI-generated or artificially manipulated.All results are statistical probability estimates and should not be interpreted as definitive, factual, or legally binding determinations. The Service is provided for informational and personal use only.

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@realengine.ca if you suspect unauthorized access.

We take your privacy seriously. Files you upload for analysis are:

• Deleted within 60 seconds of upload — this is enforced at the database level, not just a policy.
• Never shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
• Never used to train AI models.
• Stored temporarily only for the purpose of analysis. Only the result (verdict, confidence score, metadata) is retained in your scan history.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or obscene.
• Sharing & Defamation: You are solely responsible for any content or results you share publicly or privately. You agree not to use realEngine results to harass, defame, or damage the reputation of any individual or entity. Fettler Ltd. disclaims all liability for how users interpret, share, or act upon results.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or security measures.
• Use results from the Service as sole or primary evidence in legal proceedings, high-stakes journalism, or professional forensic analysis without independent expert verification.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. Results are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Fettler Ltd. expressly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Accuracy & Refunds: Given the evolving nature of AI, detection accuracy varies. By using the Service, you acknowledge that “false positives” and “false negatives” occur. Fees paid for scans or subscriptions are non-refundable based on the perceived accuracy or results of any individual scan.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fettler Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of reputation or data) arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

The Service, including all software, design, text, graphics, and logos, is owned by Fettler Ltd. and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

You retain ownership of all content you upload. By uploading content, you grant Fettler Ltd. a temporary, limited license solely for the purpose of performing the analysis you have requested. This license expires when the file is deleted (within 60 seconds).

Fettler Ltd. strives for high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. All personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fettler Ltd. and its employees from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your sharing of results that results in third-party claims of defamation or privacy violations.

realEngine is not a certified forensic tool. Results from this platform should be treated as technical signals to be investigated further, not as absolute proof of authenticity or manipulation. Professional users (journalists, legal counsel, investigators) use the Service at their own risk and are responsible for cross-referencing results with other evidence.
